THIS Christmas had the golden touch for Eddie and Ann Preston when they celebrated 50 years of marriage on Wednesday.
Eddie (74) and Ann (68), of Richard Birch Street, Bury, met in a Blackpool snack bar and were married at Bury Register Office in 1954.
They originally lived in Lowercroft at an ex-army camp site before moving to their current home more than 40 years ago.
The couple raised a family of two sons and three daughters and now have ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
They had a quiet celebration by visiting their local church together.
Mr Preston said: "We both have a sense of humour which is so important in a marriage. And, although we do have our arguments, they never last more than a day and we always make up in the end." (bur200407222)
