THE deputy manager of a Tottington nursery has decided to swap climates for the sunny sands of Crete and make the most of her retirement.
Jackie Ledbury, of Harwood Road, has worked at Tottington Private Nursery School, in Kirklees Street, since it opened 15 years ago.
Originally from South Wales, she has lived with her husband Robert in Bury for 30 years and will move to Crete after Christmas, where her sister lives.
Susan Robinson, the nursery proprietor, said Jackie will be sadly missed: "Jackie gave the nursery three years" notice of her intended move but it is hard to believe the time is finally here. She has helped the nursery achieve the highest standards, is loved by everyone and will be greatly missed by all her colleagues, parents and, most especially, the children."
