I WOULD say to P. Charles (Letters, December 10) that if this is a truly democratic society, why are Christian beliefs and customs being suppressed?
As an armed services veteran of 25 years, I have never met a soldier who joined and fought to "beat fascism". Most joined to protect this country and our customs. And it is a blatant lie that whenever the BNP meet they use Nazi salutes. The Union flag is our only symbol.
