PEOPLE who regularly park in Crompton Street, Bury, near the old main post office building, may not yet have noticed, but if they look closely they will see that a white broken line has appeared where they normally park their cars.

But they should not be fooled into thinking that it is there to help, because there is a parking warden waiting around the corner to give you a £60 parking ticket.

Bury Metro have apparently placed this marking on the road to indicate that it is now a loading area only, yet there is nothing on the road to indicate this, only a small plaque eight feet up on a lamp post.

Bury Metro could have marked the road "Loading Only", and this would have indicated the changes, but they prefer to collect the rewards from fines imposed every day on unsuspecting disabled motorists. It is disgraceful behaviour.

So if, like me, you have struggled around Bury trying to budget so that you have a few pounds left to spend on last-minute food shopping, forget it . . . Bury Metro have other plans for your money.

J. DEE,

Shaw Street, Bury.
