POLICE officers in Great Harwood have renewed their appeal for the owner of a stolen Edwardian- style vase to contact them.

An initial appeal on Thursday in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph led to a man contacting the police stating the vase was his but he left no contact details.

The police are now hoping he gets back in touch so the vase can be returned to him.

Sergeant Steve Barker said: "We made an appeal for the owner of the vase, which was recovered from a car belonging to a man charged with a burglary at another house, to get in touch.

"Unfortunately an elderly gentleman popped into the police station and handed in a hand written note saying it was his vase but just signed it Joe with no last name or telephone number. We'd like him to get back in touch with us."

The foot-high white vase has gold handles and an Edwardian-style pattern.
