POLICE want to trace a motorist who may have been in the vicinity of an attempted robbery on Christmas Eve in Ramsbottom.
A 28-year-old man from Salford is due to appear at Bury Magistrates Court today charged with attempted robbery.
It is alleged that he attempted to steal cash from the back of a car that was parked close to the junction of Crow Lane and Bridge Street just before noon on December 24.
Around the same time, a blue "old-shaped" Audi A3, which may have been manufactured between September, 1999, and September, 2004, was seen in the area. The car had distinctive twin-spoked alloy wheels, unusual on a vehicle of this age and type. Officers are anxious for the driver to come forward.
