COLNE started the New Year with a 2-0 win at Bacup to extend their unbeaten run to 16 games.

Colne took the lead on 10 minutes after Jason Heffernan and James Webster linked in midfield to release Carl Haworth. He drove into the home box to find Heffernan, who had continued his run, and slotted the ball beyond the advancing keeper.

The Reds made it 2-0 on 36 minutes when again Haworth and Webster combined before the ball fell to Kieran Roberts to lift it over the goalkeeper from the edge of the box.

Bacup applied pressure as they looked to hit back in the first 10 minutes of the second half but Craig Whitaker kept Colne's lead intact with a goal-line clearance.

May was then given a straight red card for dissent after Bacup had penalty appeals turned down.

From that point on, Colne kept possession well to see the game out.

RAMSBOTTOM UNITED romped to a 3-0 win at Formby courtesy of three second half goals.

Ramsbottom made the breakthrough 10 minutes into the second period when Todd Hayes followed up Kyle Ingham's saved shot to score.

Bernard Morley struck their second from a penalty on 83 minutes following a foul on Matt Edgington, and Adam Kozlowski sealed the win in injury time with a powerful drive.
