A BOY, aged 14, has denied raping a woman at knifepoint as she walked home through woodland in Leigh.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied the offence, which is alleged to have occurred between June 3 and 6 last year.

Judge Henry Globe QC remanded the teenager on conditional bail at Liverpool Crown Court. A date for his trial was set for March 29.

The judge also imposed a curfew at his home in Lowton from 9pm until 7am.

The curfew will not apply if the boy is accompanied by his father.
