DETECTIVES were today investigating a report of an early morning street robbery in Burnley town centre.
Police received a complaint from a man who said he was mugged in an alleyway behind the White Lion pub, off Parker Lane.
He alleged he was walking his dog at about 5am yesterday when two men approached him using force to steal jewellery and a mobile phone.
Yesterday morning the scene was cordoned off while forensic examinations took place.
Detective Sergeant Paul Leigh, of Burnley CID, said: "We are still investigating a report of a robbery."
