SHAKER Terry Dunfield is out for the rest of the season after scans showed he has broken his kneecap together with sustaining ligament damage.

The Canadian midfielder was stretchered off early in Saturday's goalless home draw with Leyton Orient after a clash with Donny Barnard.

He had a scan on the problem on Tuesday, and boss Graham Barrow's worst fears were confirmed.

"It was very swollen on Monday and didn't look good, especially when he said he heard something go in his knee.

"He'd just got playing to the top of his form and we're really going to miss him."

It's another blow for beleagured Barrow, who will have to adjust to life without leading scorer Dave Nugent, who signed for Preston North End on Tuesday for an undisclosed fee.
