RESIDENTS in Burnley have the chance to find out about the changing face of the borough at two roadshows this month.

Burnley Council is holding its third round of Face-to-Face gatherings to give people the opportunity to find out about some of the changes that will take place this year.

Councillors and council staff will be on hand to answer questions on projects including the new £21million health and leisure complex being built on the former St Peter's car park in Church Street; Contact Burnley - the new one-stop-shop; changes to the way the council collects recycling material and rubbish and council tax and what the authority has achieved in recent years.

Council leader Stuart Caddy encouraged people to attend the meetings and said the authority was committed to going into the community to listen to residents.

He said: "I hope people take these opportunities to come along to Face-to-Face and find out more about some of the exciting projects

"I know people have questions and concerns about the changes to the recycling and waste collections coming in later this year and these roadshows are just one of the ways the council is using to get information about the changes across.

"These events are also about letting people know more about the work going on over the next 12 months and beyond to improve the borough as a whole."

The roadshows will be held at Padiham Town Hall ballroom, on Saturday, January 22, between 11am and 2pm and Burnley Market Hall on Saturday, January 29, between 11am and 3pm.
