A 16-YEAR-OLD girl has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a 34-year-old Accrington man.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Hyndburn magistrates yesterday. During the half-hour hearing she spoke only to confirm her name.
She is charged with the murder of Ken Embley on Monday and was remanded in secure accommodation until Tuesday when she will appear before Hyndburn youth court.
Police were called to Royds Street, Accrington, at around 11.30pm on Monday. They found Mr Embley with stab wounds in his neck. He was taken to Blackburn Infirmary but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
