BEER festival organisers are urging people to raise a glass in support of Tsunami victims.

Atherton and Tyldesley Round Table have already pledged a sum to the Round Table Relief Fund as well as many personal pledges by members to the main Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC).

Now tablers are asking people from Journaland to help them raise more money which will be sent to Round Tables in the devastated areas of South East Asia for local relief work.

Coming up between January 27th and 29th is the 16th Bent and Bongs Beer Bash at the Formby Hall in Atherton and organisers Atherton & Tyldesley Round Table will offer people a unique way to support others in South East Asia.

Bent & Bongs has always had a reputation for providing a wide range of different beers from around the world and this year one of the beers available is "Black Moon Stout" which is brewed under licence in Stockport by 3 Rivers for their daughter brewery in Bali, Indonesia.

Most of the proceeds from the Beer Festival will be used to support local good causes, with the main beneficiary this year being Wigan and Leigh Hospice. But every penny spent on Black Moon Stout will go directly to South East Asia to aid the rescue and rebuilding efforts. There will also be a collection bucket in front of the beer for those who want to contribute more than the cost of a pint.

If you would like to support our efforts and sample a pint of "Black Moon Stout" we would encourage you to get there early as we expect this brew to be particularly popular.

Festival spokesman Paul Barber said: "If you want to make more of a commitment then there is the opportunity to have your name or your company name above this beer by sponsoring it for a minimum donation of £250."
