OLYMPIC rowing hero Matthew Pinsent will drop in on an East Lancashire school next week to show off his medals.
The rower will bring along his impressive haul of four gold medals when he visits pupils at Oakhill College, Whalley, on Tuesday.
Matthew, who led Britain's coxless four to the narrowest of victories in Athens last summer and became one of only five athletes to win gold at four successive games, was recently made a knight in the Queen's New Years Honours list.
The visit was arranged when one of the pupil's grandparents, businessman Colin Mustoe who owns Senator office supplies in Altham, signed up the Olympic hero for promotional work.
A school spokesman said: "He asked Matthew if he'd be willing to take his medals along to his grand-daughter's school and thankfully he said yes.
"We jumped at the chance of course because he's one of Britain's greatest sporting heroes."
Matthew will first chat to younger members of the school, including prep school children, before holding a question and answer session with older pupils later in the morning.
