YOUNG musicians are using their talents to raise cash for the Asian Tsunami Appeal.
More than 60 players from the Astley Youth Band will play a six hour non-stop marathon at Walkden's Tesco store on January 15 from 10am.
Other organisations have been quick to act to help boost the Asian Tsunami Appeal. Local events include:
A coffee morning and bring and buy sale at Howe Bridge Scout Hut, Leigh Road, on Friday (January 14) from 9am to noon.
A coffee morning with cake stall in the church lounge at Kingsleigh Methodist Church, King Street, Leigh, on January 22 from 9.30am to noon and a donated goods sale in the adjoining youth centre from 10am to 3pm on the same day. Gifts for sale can be received at church coffee mornings each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9.30am to noon.
