TYLDESLEY RU made light work of opponents Aldwinians and the strong wind to blow away the opposition and breeze to top spot of Cumbria & North Lancashire League.

Playing against the wind in the first half, Tyldesley weathered a strong start by the home side before pushing the Aldwinians pack over their own line for a pushover try scored by Adam Fetherston.

The second period again had Aldwinians starting strongly but this was negated as the Tyldesley pack dominated proceedings a simple score for centre Sean Pulman following a sustained period of pressure was converted by Ashley Worsfold.

Tyldesley continued to press and Mark Dickinson bagged another try as Tyldesley cruised home 19-0 victors. The victory was even sweeter as it saw Tyldesley knock long time leaders Wigton off the top spot.

This Sunday, Tyldesley travel to Warrington for the quarter final of the Lancashire Trophy.

Tyldesley Knights struggled at a blustery Blackburn going down 17-0. Good performances from Brian Ndlovu and Jamie Aldred.

Tyldesley Dragons entertained Carrington at St George's Park and ran out comfortable 36-0 winners. Tries where scored by Howard Hughes (3), Dave Goulbourne (2) and Jim Hutton. Darren Newton landed three goals.
