A FLY-TIPPER has been fined £150 and ordered to pay costs of £206 after dumping waste in Cams Lane, Radcliffe.
Bury Council took out a prosecution against Daniel Colgan, of Farhey Close, Radcliffe, last Thursday at Bury Magistrates Court.
Colgan pleaded guilty to depositing controlled waste on land last July. Bury Council investigated after a complaint that domestic waste had been tipped on land adjacent to Sunny Bank Mill at Cams Lane.
Councillor Mike Connolly, Bury Council's Executive Member for Environment and Transport, said after the hearing: "We hope this prosecution will deter other individuals from depositing waste in this anti-social manner.
"Anyone considering fly-tipping should understand that we will investigate cases thoroughly and will prosecute whenever we can produce witnesses or other evidence."
