THE letter (January 6) regarding there being only one speed camera in Bury is correct. It is situated on Peel Way.

With the roads getting busier and more dangerous every week, surely Bury Metro could use some of our council tax to bring the borough into line with other towns and add to its current single speed camera. Mobile speed cameras are not as effective and when was the last time we saw the over-stretched police out with them?

To my knowledge, Bolton Road in Radcliffe has been the scene of more than 40 accidents in the last three years, and two innocent teenagers have lost their lives in the area. The main cause of these statistics has been excessive speed.

There should be no need of a body count. Bury Metro should make a stand now to stop this speeding madness claiming any more lives.
