SINCE being diagnosed with cancer of the prostate gland some five years ago, I have received treatment of the highest order from the NHS.

Initial treatment began at Christie Hospital in Manchester and later at Fairfield General Hospital, under Mr D.G. Barnes, the consultant urologist who is an absolute genius, with the correct "no nonsense" approach.

Fairfield has an organisation to be envied. I reserve the highest praise for the nursing staff with their cheerful demeanour, expert manner, and genuine concern shown to patients to alleviate any possible anxiety. Every nurse - from the most junior to the highest in rank - shows the utmost dedication in nursing the patient back to health.
