INTERNATIONAL spiritualist medium Stephen Holbrook, is holding an evening of clairvoyance to amaze the people of East Lancashire.

Stephen, who has a rare gift and is pleased to share it, is holding an evening in Blackburn as part of his tour of the country.

He travels the UK giving public demonstrations, allowing people to see his powers for themselves. Stephen first realised he had a gift when he was nine years old.

"I was in bed and my grandfather walked into my room. He told me to 'tell your mum I've gone.' My mum said I was dreaming. The next day my grandfather had died."

"Then up to the age of 16 nothing happened until I was shopping in a supermarket. I reached into a freezer for a pizza and I touched a woman's hand."

She then gave him messages, one of which was to tell someone to have a happy birthday.

"When people swim next to me or bang into me I receive messages," he said.

Stephen, now 38, has been demonstrating for the last 19 years.

He described his show as "proving to the audience that there is life beyond the veil."

"Clairvoyancy is communication with the spirit world. It's different from fortune telling.

"I act as a telephone exchange, a vehicle of communication. 99 per cent of people go away buzzing -- feeling elated."

He has also used his special gift to help raise money for charity, raising £44,000 over the last three years.

He has even helped police with their investigations and has worked on a murder inquiry. He has featured in a three-part documentary called Talking to the Dead and has been popular with several celebrities who have taken an interest into his work.

Actor Colin Fry, who starred in The Sixth Sense, visited one of Stephen's demonstrations a few months back and he has also been linked to singer Jane McDonald, who dedicated her book to him.

She wrote: "My guru, inspiration and mentor. How do you do it?"

Stephen said that before Jane was well known and worked as a club singer, he told her that one day she would work on a cruise ship and become famous.

Three months later, Jayne's mother called Stephen saying that she had been offered a job on a ship and there were TV crews there who wanted to film. Since then, she's never looked back. Asked if people were a little wary of him when they found out what he did, he said: "Yes, sometimes but these days there's so much on TV, it's now really normal."

Of his audiences, he said: "They want to know that life continues after death.

"They come along to see for themselves."

"They find it interesting but it is an emotional rollercoaster evening."

The evening of clairvoyance will be held at the premiere suite, Ewood Park, Blackburn, on Thursday, January 27.

Tickets cost £10 from the Lancashire Evening Telegraph on 01254 298366 or visit www.thisislancashire.co.uk and for more information about Stephen visit www.steveholbrook.co.uk
