SILVERWARE is the order of the day as both Morecambe and Lancaster City go hunting FA Trophy glory on Saturday.

The Shrimps host minnows Sutton Coldfield Town while City are on their travels to Vauxhall Motors - and both go into the games high on confidence.

Morecambe should fancy their chances of progression as they take their seasonal bow in the competition against little Sutton Coldfield Town.

Manager Jim Harvey has the bonus of a virtual full strength squad ahead of the clash with the Southern League outfit.

The Royals have won just one of their last 10 games and are second from bottom in their league after having a whopping 11 points deducted for playing an illegible player. But Harvey, whose Morecambe side are unbeaten in eight, is taking nothing for granted.

"I am focused on the leaguebut I will pick a team to win the game," says the manager.

"Our form has been improving and I want to carry that on. All the boys who have been injured are coming along well and it's a good time of the year to have a strong squad."

Skipper Jim Bentley may return, while Michael String-fellow, record signing Terry McFlynn and Lee Dodgeson may also feature.

The Dolly Blues have found their form in recent weeks and boss Phil Wilson - who this week pledged his future to the club - is boosted by the return from injury of his key men. But Ian Dawes (hamstring) is likely to miss out on a return to his former club.

The FA Trophy is special to Wilson. Three times he reached the final as a player and he also appeared in seven semis - mak-ing the affable manager one of the most successful players in the competition's history. And now he hankers for similar success from the dug out.

"I do like the competition and I believe we can do well in it," says Wilson. "But it will be a tough game at Vauxhall - it always is there."

Tuesday night's postponement of the Runcorn FC Halton clash was a fillip for Wilson.

"Joe McMahon and Paul Sparrow both had knocks so they have had a few extra days," adds the manager.
