STOP PRESS
Burnley are without Micah Hyde, who remains suspended following the postponement of the FA Cup tie against Liverpool. Richard Chaplow deputises, while Michael Duff (calf) and Frank Sinclair (hamstring) are doubts. Reading are without top scorer Dave Kitson (knee) and Graeme Murty is battling to shake off knee and ankle injuries to start. Bobby Convey stands by as a replacement.
DID YOU KNOW?
Former Clarets striker Andy Payton was the first visiting player to score against Reading at thre Madejski Stadium in the 1-1 draw in September 1998.
OPPOSITION KEY MAN
GLEN LITTLE: Burnley will hope the old adage about players returning to haunt their former clubs does not come true for once. Little needs no introduction to Burnley fans, who enjoyed his wing wizardry for seven-and-a-half years before his tearful exit last summer. Now 29, the Wimbledon born wide-man has settled in well at Reading, where ominously he still has to open his account after seeing a header against Stan Ternent's Gillingham chalked off on New Year's Day.
YOUNG GUN
STEVE SIDWELL: The archetypal midfielder often makes the Royals tick with his impressive box-to-box workrate. Sidwell, still only 22, served his trade at Arsenal before arriving at Reading following loan spells at Brentford and Brighton. The former England U21 international has not looked back since and will surely be a target for Premiership clubs should Steve Coppell's men fail to make the top flight this season.
