A NEW building is ready to be filled by Cheeky Monkeys!

That's the name of a new £40,000 nursery being launched in Prestwich later this month by Bury businesswoman Michelle Linacre and business partner Carol Talbot. The building, in Chandos Road, was formerly home to another nursery which shut in 2003.

Now Michelle and Carol are giving a new lease of life to the premises after buying themfrom the previous owners.

Cheeky Monkeys will cater for 27 children, aged between six weeks and five, and will have seven staff.

Michelle said: "We purchased the nursery last July and have spent six months renovating it and bringing it up to current legislative guidelines.

"It passed its Ofsted inspection in November and we've had some bookings already. Childcare is a very competitive market. Our research shows there is demand in the Prestwich area.

"We will provide swimming and dancing lessons and other activities focused on care and love. For the older children, we will bring in knowledge and understanding of the world, things outside their own house."

Cheeky Monkeys will also be involved in pre-school foundation stages.

The nursery will run five days a week in Prestwich, Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 6pm. Parents are being invited to attend an open day on Saturday 15 and Saturday January 22 from 11am to 3pm before the official opening on January 24.

Mother-of-two Michelle (35), and 41-year-old Carol run a separate Cheeky Monkeys nursery in Bolton. Previously, Michelle was a training manager for an insurance company while Carol was a book keeper.
