PADIHAM players beware. Manager Steve Wilkes is still smarting after last week's defeat and his starting line-up could feel the wrath tomorrow.

The Storks boss was nothing short of devastated after his side went down 2-1 at Cheadle Town - their first loss since November.

And now he feels they cannot afford to drop any more points if they expect to be in the promotion shake-up at the end of the season.

But with one signing already in the bag ahead of tomorrow's home game against Holker OB, and another to be made by Sunday at the latest, Wilkes is making steps in the right direction.

"I haven't been as upset as a manager for a long, long time after a result like we had on Saturday," said Wilkes who has signed Anthony Green from Great Harwood Town while he hopes to add Nelson striker Paul Fildes to his squad some time before next week.

"We had a chance to go two points clear at the top of the league last week. But you've got to start to question if they want it enough. Or maybe they just don't realise exactly what's at stake.

"We're into the realms where we can't afford to drop points anywhere."
