BACUP Borough manager Brent Peters has warned his team that the conditions may prove as testing as their opponents tomorrow, writes STUART TURNER.

Borough travel to struggling Atherton Collieries on the back of last week's comfortable 3-0 victory at Formby.

However, Peters is expecting the notoriously troublesome surface at the Alder Street ground will make it tough going for his side, who currently lie eighth in the Division One table.

Peters said: "It's not the best of pitches there and won't suit our style of football. It's a case of going there and adapting to the conditions.

"Good players can do that and, as a manager, that's something I have to get across to the players."

Their hosts haven't tasted victory in the league since October 23 and Peters is confident that his team can come away with the points.

"We are fully focused and in a positive frame of mind after the good result last week," he said.

Peters is hoping to include Lee Buggie, who has been suffering with an ankle ligaments injury, in the starting line-up.

Captain Steve Stott, who returned from injury as a subsitute last week, may also return to the side.

With condiditons in mind, Peters may choose to rest Ben Thornley, who is suffering from a nagging calf injury.

Peters said: "The surface will determine if I play him or not."
