WALSHAW Conservative Club caused put a block on Walmersley Con B's breakaway at the top.
They dropped only one frame in a 6-1 points victory.
B. Weall and G. Haynes got the visitors off to a flying start with 125-90 and 125-70 chalk wins.
W. Mitchell (125-75) pulled back the arrears somewhat but a last frame win for R. Vadasz secured the match.
Walshaw Con B also made some headway, defeating Walmersley Con A.
D. Samuals (125-84) and T. Wilkinson (125-98) put the home team in the driving seat and a third win by P. Eslick made the match safe.
S. Barcroft (125-122) salvaged a point for the visitors to prevent a clean sweep by three chalks.
Tottington Con A also kept on track with a good win over the B team.
The first three frames all went the A teams way, highlighted by a big win by N. Rigby (125-62).
P. Spring (125-90) took the third frame and only J. Birtwistle (125-104) was able to pick up a point for the B team.
