MOST DJs become popular in their home town before looking further afield. Not Blackburn DJ Lee Walsh.

He ended up playing in Croatia after one his mixes was heard on the internet and, when word about that got round, he secured a regular set back in Blackburn.

That was last year -- and now the House fiend is planning to go back on the road in a bid to ensure 2005 brings him even more success.

Lee, who hosts the monthly SoundworX night at North Bar, in Blackburn, is planning trips back to Croatia and journeys into Italy and Slovenia, all with his record bag in tow.

Lee, who played to a packed Club Joy in a Croatian seaside resort, said: "The friends I made out there have been back on to me asking me to go back out.

"I will be DJing in the Joy Club in Croatia and Alter Ego in Italy this time.

"I will probably be going over in either March or April and in September. I am also hoping to DJ in Slovenia but that one hasn't been firmed up yet.

"It's pretty exciting because they really look after me and I get a great reaction from the crowd."

Up-and-coming acts from Holland, Germany and Italy are also flown in for the nights.

But Lee plans to return the favour -- and get some of the Croatian DJs over to North Bar next month.

Lee said: "There are plans for one of Croatia's DJs to be coming over here at the end of February, which should be good.

SoundworX Sessions is going really well and has a good following. It's all about providing something different to what is on offer at the moment.

"I 'm really enjoying it."

It's not the only place to catch Lee, though.

He now has a radio show every Friday afternoon, streamed from www.djsourceradio.co.uk.
