TOM Rosser (Letters, December 31) makes two blatant errors of fact.

Firstly, he says that "Christian beliefs and customs are being suppressed". He must live in a different country to the rest of us. I wish he could provide the evidence to support such a ridiculous claim.

The last few weeks of the Christmas period are proof positive, if proof were needed, that the opposite is the truth. Schools and churches have been full of people singing the praises of the founder of Christianity.

And as to the use of the Nazi salute by BNP members, the infamous picture of the founder of the BNP, John Tyndall , in Nazi uniform, right arm raised in salute, in front of a picture of Adolf Hitler, has been mentioned in this paper by other correpondents.

Lastly, Mr Rosser does not provide any evidence as to when he served in the armed services "for 25 years". It obviously was not durng the period of the 1939-45 war, which has gone down in history as the war to defeat fascism.
