BURY has the fourth-narrowest gender pay gap in the north west.
New figures from the GMB union show that full-time women workers in the borough earn a gross average of £387.10 per week compared to their male counterparts, who earn £457.90. According to the GMB, that means women in Bury earn 84.5 per cent of what the men earn each week.
The widest gender pay gap is in Blackpool, where women earn just 61.1 per cent of what men earn.
Average earnings for full-time male workers in the region are £519.50 a week, which is £37.30 below the UK average.
Average earnings for full-time women workers in the north west are £390.80, which is £29.40 below the national average.
