ATHERTON Rotary Club has played an important role in sending shelter and water to Asian tsunami survivors.
The club has responded to a request from Rotary International to fund two shelter boxes and an aqua box for the disaster area.
President Colin Mickleburgh said: "Following earlier donations the club answered the call for further aid. Each shelterbox provides a dry haven for 10 people together with bedding, light and heat, clean water, cooking aids and tools.
"The aqua box will provide facilities to produce 33,000 litres of clean water."
