THE new president of the Manchester Consular Association (MCA) has paid a courtesy visit to Bury Town Hall.
Mr Salahuddin Choudhry was welcomed by Bury's mayor and mayoress, Councillor Barry Briggs and Coun Mrs Sharon Briggs, and signed the visitors' book in the mayor's parlour.
As well as being president of the MCA, Mr Choudhry is also the Consul General of Pakistan and is based in Manchester.
During his visit to Bury, he outlined his role and duties and also met representatives of Bury's political parties and the local authority's deputy chief executive Mr Mike Kelly.
