LANCASHIRE has been revealed as the number one "birthplace" of England's greatest sporting talent.
Barclays says the county has produced more sporting legends such as Sir Geoff Hurst, Will Greenwood, Sir Stanley Matthews and Andy Farrell than any other.
The research co-incides with the launch of the Barclays Spaces for Sports scheme, a £30 million investment to create sustainable sports facilities across the UK and provide kidt and equipment for people using them.
It is a partnership between Barclays, the Football Foundation and Groundwork.
