POLICE in the Ribble Valley have warned owners of expensive sports cars to hide their keys after a £55,000 Audi RS6 was stolen.

Thieves took the car from the garage of a detached house in Downham Road, Chatburn, after getting in through an unlocked door to steal a bunch of keys.

They then activated the electronic fob to open the garage door, and open electric gates on the drive.

Police have linked this theft on Sunday, with a similar raid in Waddington last Wednesday when a Subaru Impreza was stolen from the driveway in Queensway.

It was later found torched in Halifax.

Inspector Bob Ford of Clitheroe police said: "We would urge people to hide their keys -- don't make it easy for them.

"We want to speak to anyone who may have seen the Audi RS6, registration number DE53 ZPO in the area."
