A SCHOOLBOY given the kiss of life after being knocked down by a car is now recovering well at home.
Karl Greenwood Morris, 10, sustained head and abdominal injuries when he was struck by a Nissan Sunny as he played outside his grandfather's home in Sumner Street, Blackburn.
Passer by 30-year-old Bernard Rawstron was hailed a lifesaver after rushing to his aid.
The self-confessed heroin addict of Union House, St Peter's Street, Blackburn, used mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to get the youngster breathing again after seeing him lying in the road.
Karl, who along with brother Brandon, eight, and sister Elle, five, is a pupil of The Redeemer School, Blackburn, was taken to the intensive care unit at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, Pendlebury, due to the seriousness of his injuries.
After showing signs of recovery he was moved to a children's ward and on Friday was deemed fit enough to return to his Blackburn home in Canterbury Street.
l The 17-year-old male driver of the Nissan was arrested and released on bail pending further inquiries.
