TWO separate and differing correspondents (Letters, February 4) directed attention to the gradual and insidious reduction of traditional British freedoms.
Innocent until proven guilty no longer seems to apply and the Establishment is hell-bent on removing the right to trial by jury. How long before the secretly organised crime agency begins acting like the KGB?
One by one, dictacts from the European Union, aided and abetted by our "open and honest" government, are removing or banning our established traditions and freedoms.
Of course we do still have our freedoms, but each year they get fewer. How long before we are free only to do as we are told?
NEVER KNOWINGLY
POLITICALLY-CORRECT,
Prestwich.
