AN ASTLEY couple held a joint birthday party with a difference after they raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
Husband and wife Ann and Norman OMalley asked guests to make a donation to Diabetes UK instead of give presents at their birthday bash at Astley Labour Club.
And their family and friends did not disappoint after they raised £670 for the charity.
Ann, aged 65 and Norman, aged 70, from Beechwood Crescent, have been raising money for the charity for eight years since grandson Sean OMalley developed diabetes when he was just 18 months old.
