LEIGH Soccer League leaders AFC Tyldesley suffered a shock Carl Brown Memorial Trophy semi-final defeat.

The table-toppers were sent crashing by lowly Leigh Legion who scored through Holmes and Sweeney for a 2-0 victory.

Asda Golborne find themselves four points off off the lead when they were held 2-2 by Atherton Sports and Social Club. Jackson and McPike netted for Atherton while Asda scored through Hough and an own goal.

The two remaining league games produced plenty of goals as Atherton Colls Reserves beat Rope and Anchor 8-2 and De La Salle smashed in 11 against Fir Tree Reserves.

Greeley (3), Barrington (2), Neil, Birchall and Cooper all scored for Colls while Taylor netted twice for Rope. There were hat-tricks for S.Cox, A.Cox and Fox among De La Salles goals rush with Fir Trees consolation coming from Brennan.
