A FUNDRAISING ten pin bowling event to raise money for the tsunami disaster appeal has been cancelled.
The charity bowling night had been organised jointly by Groundwork Bury and Pilsworth-based Megabowl and was scheduled to be staged at the bowling complex on March 1.
But Groundwork officials say they have just found out that the deadline for donations to the Disaster Emergency Committee, which allocates funds to various charities involved in tsunami relief, is Saturday. This has forced the cancellation of the bowling event.
