SEDGLEY PARK U17 33 CREWE & NANTWICH U17 3: Straight from the kick-off Sedgley Park put C&N under intense pressure and almost scored on two occasions within the first fifteen minutes.

Each time the referee adjudged the ball to be held up over the line.

Sloppy ball handling by Sedgley ruined many promising moves, yet the game was being played in the C&N half, with their forwards tackling relentlessly, frustrating the Sedgley pack.

Finally, from a ruck five metres out, Max Prashad picked up the ball and dived over the top of the rucking players to score a spectacular touchdown which Adam Rowlinson converted.

The Sedgley forwards continued unabatedly to put the C&N line under attack and Daniel Adamson powered his way through to score.

Still there was no let up for C&N when Max Prashad completed a strong run from eight metres out for his second try which Rowlinson converted.

With minutes to go in the first half, C&N made their first attacks within the Sedgley half and a series of penalties for offside led to a C&N conversion with the last kick of the half.

In the second half, C&N were still under constant pressure, but they cleared their lines better with their kicks aided by the wind.

This, coupled with improved tackling and team spirit held back the expectant Sedgley flood.

In a quick passing move, Jonathan Walmsley received the ball 10 metres out, brushed aside two tackles and cut inside to score a well worked try converted by Rowlinson.

Jordan Pearson had an intimidating game in the Sedgley forwards, but was yellow carded for an alleged stamping offence. While Aaron McDade went over the line but was adjudged to have been held up, before Matt Lamprey scored with a characteristic pick and drive move.
