UNWANTED gifts and impulse buys are being used to help fight cancer.
Cancer Research UK is urging people to delve into their CD collections, bookshelves, lofts and wardrobes as part of the clear out for cancer.
Warren Tonge, manager of the Bury shop on The Rock, said: "Most people are holding onto items they never use. It might be something they have never worn, or an unwanted gift still sitting in the box. Bringing the items to us does create space at home, but a bag of good quality clothing and homewares is worth more than £30 to us, and that's money we can spend on finding new ways of preventing, treating and curing cancer."
Items can be taken to the shop from Monday to Saturday between 9am and 4pm. For more information telephone 762 9705.
