SEDGLEY PARK U15 19 WHARFEDALE U15 22: Despite arctic conditions, this Roses clash between two very good teams provided excellent entertainment at Park Lane.
Sedgley dominated the opening exchanges and led 14-0, thanks to two tries from centre Jonathan Sheppard, both converted by Thomas Leader.
However, Wharfedale came back, scoring two tries, one converted, to make the score at half-time 14-12.
The second half was almost a mirror of the first with Park again in control early on.
They scored a third try, winger Shepherd Mangambeko beating his man on the outside, to make the score 19-12.
But Sedgley were unable to build on this and Wharfedale scored a converted try to set up a tense last five minutes.
Nerves got the better of several Park players and all cohesion was lost.
The Yorkshire team then scored the decisive try in the corner with seconds remaining.
