I HAVE a driving job that takes me around Bury and the surrounding towns.
What confuses me is why the company who has the contract to repair bus stops, keeps on replacing the partitions with glass, time and time again, after the yob element throws a brick through them.
The bus stop at the end of my road is known to the police as a regular stone-throwers target as it has been broken four times since the summer.
Two glass partitioned bus stops, 200 yards apart, were smashed recently on Ainsworth Road, Bury, and then replaced with glass. Yet at the end of Ainsworth Road there is a bus stop with solid panels. There are many of these bus stops and they never seem to get vandalised.
Broken glass remains on the floor for people to slip on until it is removed by the company once again. Their insurance premiums must be sky-high!
