VALE of Lune's wonderful women claimed the silverware and promotion to the RFU Premiership after yet another fine victory on Sunday.
Vale's outstanding team - who have lost only one game this season under the stewardship of coach Brian Garnett - have been favourites to clinch the title for weeks.
That dream has been edging towards reality - and on Sunday it came true when the locals beat Alton 22-5 in front of their fans at Powder House Lane.
The party is likely to go on until Vale's final game at Richmond in April 10.
