RUGBY League's Six Nations will feature the city of Lancaster after the local team won selection for a prestige event in Holland.

Lancaster Rugby League will face the cream of Europe when they go Dutch in August for the Rotterdam International Nines - including the Georgian and Holland national sides.

The Netherlands National Rugby League Bond has attracted 16-team for the event, with six different nations represented at club or national level.

The international team sheets give Lancaster their most attractive fixtures to date with teams from England, Scotland, Ireland, Holland, Germany and Georgia taking to the field.

The tournament will also see the debut for Germany, new League playing nation represented by the students of Mnchen-Stusta.

"When we set up the club three years ago, the thought of rugby league being played in Holland Georgia or Germany was almost beyond belief, never mind that Lancaster would be a part of it all," says Lancaster club chairman John Thomason.

"The expansion of the game has been phenomenal, and it is fantastic recognition for our city that Lancaster Rugby are involved.

"Tournaments like Rotterdam will be used to assist teams pushing for admission to the 2008 World Cup and local rugby players have an amazing opportunity to help this happen."

The event will also see Lancaster compete against Oxford University Old Boys, National League club Essex Eels and Dublin's East Coast Eagles.

Last year's event was won by Scotland Students, who defeated Broughton Red Rose in the final.
