THE cup semi finals were played last week in both cup competitions in the Johnson Trophy for first division teams.
The all Fearns semi final went the way of the A team who conceded a 58 point start to their B team and triumphed with 36 points to spare, Rising Bridge and Badgercote B have still to play their semi final.
In the Steve Barton Trophy for second division clubs, cup holders Goodshaw went out at the semi final stage. After giving bottom club Fearns C.
A massive 170 point start they failed by 16 points. Fearns C face a more daunting task in the final, as they will face league champions Broadway, who kept on course for the double by beating Phoenix in the semi final. Broadway conceded a 132 point start but ran out winners by 38 points.
