A WEEK'S break from the league campaign has done nothing to derail Bury's promotion bid.

In fact, judging by their demolition of Lancashire Health and Racquets on Thursday, the rest might just have left them in perfect shape.

Five stellar performances from the Bury heroes led them to a whitewash of the unfortunate visitors without a dropped set all night.

This has been a season of incredible highs for the local boys but this weeks effort is right up there with the their best efforts.

Steve Creegan has been in scintillating form in the last few months and would have been confident of getting the night off on the right note in his clash with Lewis Doughty.

Whilst he wasn't at his dominant best he was still able to land the opening points without threat.

Sam Leach and Stu Garnett had altogether much easier nights.

Skipper Garnett in particular was in cruise control, dropping just three points in his match against James Barlow.

The victory was secure with those three wins but Bury maintained the winning thread.

After toying with Tony Heffernan in a close first set, Eddie Black sauntered away with sets two and three to maintain his 100% seasonal record-some achievement.

Paul Harrison resumed his anchor position and was given a test by his opponent. Nothing that he could handle however and the veteran was back in the zone after turning up for the blank fixture list last week!

He might cop some stick for that lapse but as far as the serious business is concerned, its still very much as you were for Bury.
