A 23-YEAR-OLD man appeared in court on Thursday afternoon charged with the murder of a Bury foreman.
Engineer Ryan McLoughlin (23), of Fairfields, Bromley Cross, Bolton, is accused of kicking to death Robert Johnston.
McLoughlin appeared in the dock at Bolton Magistrates Court where he was remanded in custody and is to re-appear at Manchester Crown Court next Friday.
Father-of-four Robert Johnston had been out celebrating his 39th birthday when he was attacked in Saville Street, Bolton, in the early hours of October 16 last year. He died from head injuries.
Mr Johnston worked at Briggs Demolition in Bury and had lived in Holme Avenue, Brandlesholme, until moving to Breightmet eight months before his death.
A 28-year-old man from Egerton,also arrested in connection with Mr Johnstons death, has been released on police bail until April 26 .
