POLICE have launched a fresh appeal for information about a serious crash which has left a 17-year-old Hindley girl in a critical condition.
They are anxipous to hear from the driver and passengers of a silver family car that drove along Poolstock Lane in Worsley Mesnes shortly before 8pm on Wednesday. Police Constable Steve Culshaw has stressed the people in the silver car are not in any trouble with the police.
It is believed the driver of the silver car drove very carefully around a girl who was in the carriageway just before the collision occurred.
The teenager from Hindley was with friends on Poolstock Lane when she was in collision with a Toyota Previa travelling along Poolstock Lane towards Wigan Town Centre. She suffered serious head injuries and is currently in a critical condition in hospital.
PC Culshaw said: "I am appealing for the people in the silver car to contact me. They may not think they have any information to offer but I just want to speak to them to clarify the chain of events prior to the collision.
"I cannot stress enough that they are not in any trouble whatsoever. I would urge them and anyone else who may have been in the area at the time to contact the Area 1 Road Policing Unit on 0161 856 7273 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
