EXTENSIVE training over the Christmas holidays certainly paid off for these young members of Bury & Elton Swimming Club when they competed in the Central Lancashire Age Group Championships recently.
Hundreds of competitors, from 19 north west regions contested the event and representatives from the local club reached 37 finals, smashed personal bests and hauled in an impressive six gold medals, eight silver and 13 bronze.
In addition they won the ten years age group championship shield.
The achievement has given everyone at the club a massive boost ahead of the new season which commences this month.
Medal winners were: Josh Gallagher, Choe Whittle, Megan Ormrod, Helen Foreman, Lucy Jones, Thomas Massey, Adam French, Ashley Higham and Axel Carrarra.
