Elton travelled to Atherton and lost on the newly-installed run rate system in the league.

Their total of 147 all out proved insufficient, despite Damien Keegan's 50, as the home side rattled up 116-4 before the heavens opened and the players dashed for cover.

The Leigh Laners progressed in the Cross Cup on Sunday.

Chasing Spring View's total of 175, they knocked that total off for the loss of five wickets with professional Dexter Fitton top-scoring with 49.
